In Loving Memory Of
Dustin Lee Fitzer
August 24,1976~July 3,1995

Dustin is love and missed by
His mother Irene, his father Ray age 70, two brothers, Terry age 43, Ron age 39, three sisters: Yvonne age 41, Leslie age 35,
Becky age 31.
Also six nephews : Trent age 15, Briton age 10, Braden age 8, Nicholas age 6, Bryson age 5, Bailey age 3, one niece Alexandria age 10, and his paternal grandmother Cleo age 88.

Dustin was the youngest of six children born to me late in life, and needless to say quite a surprise to me and his father as I was 35 years old and Ray was 44 years old. He was born in a small farming and ranching community of Throckmorton , Texas. He made front page news in the little weekly newspaper as he was the first baby born there in two years . We were in the middle of a drought and people said he broke the drought. We were so proud of him. We moved into the Wichita Falls, Texas area when he was around 3 months old , then just across the Red River into the Randlett,Oklahoma community when he was around 3 years old. Randlett,Oklahoma is were he was brought up in. Growing up in a small community he enjoyed the outdoors. He loved every kind of animal is . He was always bringing home stray dogs, cats, or anything else he could find. He loved to play basketball when he was in school. When he was older he would haul hay with his older brother and brother-in -law. He loved to go to the lake in the summer with his friends and family. He loved his white 1987 GMC short-wide-bed truck. which we still own.

In fact the day he was taken to be with the angels, he was doing what he loved best. He was at the lake with his girlfriend, family and friends. He was being towed behind the boat on an innertube and was ejected from it. His head struck the rocks near the base of the dam at Lake Waurkia, Jefferson County, Oklahoma. He was killed instantly. His brother-in-law was driving the boat, his oldest brother Terry, his sister Becky, his girlfriend, and his nephew were all in the boat.

Dustin was a loving and kind brother and uncle. He will always be in our hearts and memories until we all meet again.

God's Loan

I'll lend you for a little time,
A child of mine he said
For you to love while he lives
And mourn for when he is dead
It may be six or seven years
Or twenty-two or three.
But will you, till I call him back
Take care of him for me?
He'll bring charms to gladden you,
And should his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories,
As solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay
Since all from earth return.
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn
I've looked this wide world over
In my search for teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd life lanes
I have selected you
Now will you give him all your love
Not think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call,
And take him back again
I fancied that I heard them say.
Dear Lord thy will be done
The risk of grief will run,
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may
And for the happiness we've known
Forever grateful stay
But should the angels call for him
Much sooner than we planned
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes
And try to understand.
